Abstract

This proposed study explores how shared transport arrangements relate to market access among Malawian smallholder farmers. It focuses on shipment consolidation, scheduling, cost-sharing, and coordination between producers. Farmer interviews and transport records will examine associations with delivery frequency, transport costs, and the range of markets served. The research aims to identify workable coordination arrangements that help producers overcome transport constraints and assess the challenges of maintaining collective transport services.
