Abstract
This proposed research examines how records management practices relate to administrative responsiveness in Zambian local authorities. It focuses on document classification, retrieval procedures, retention practices, and coordination between administrative units. Staff surveys, interviews, and reviews of service requests will investigate associations with processing times and information availability. The study aims to recommend practical improvements that reduce document-related delays and support consistent handling of public enquiries and administrative applications.
