Abstract
This proposed research investigates how packaging information clarity relates to consumer purchase decisions in South African food markets. It examines label readability, ingredient presentation, price information, and product claims. A consumer survey and an experiment using alternative packaging designs will assess comprehension, perceived credibility, and purchase intentions. The study aims to distinguish useful information from distracting design elements and provide recommendations for improving communication between food producers and consumers.
