Abstract
This proposed research investigates the relationship between community participation and maintenance sustainability in rural water projects in Senegal. It examines involvement in planning, maintenance committees, contribution arrangements, and local monitoring. Household surveys, project records, and interviews with committee members will explore associations with repair responsiveness and service continuity. The research aims to identify participation practices that support durable maintenance arrangements and clarify responsibilities among communities, project operators, and development partners.
