Abstract
This paper investigates how access to consumer credit influences household savings, risk perception, and financial decision-making. Using survey-based panel evidence and regression techniques, the study measures changes in spending control and savings discipline following improved credit eligibility. It also considers macroeconomic stability and perceived income volatility as moderators. The analysis suggests that credit can support investment and resilience when paired with transparent terms and financial literacy support, but it can worsen vulnerability when costs are high.
