Abstract
The research investigates how literature-based discussions and identity-centered framing affect student motivation and participation in humanities courses. Through classroom observations and structured student interviews, it identifies which teaching moves encourage sustained engagement. Special attention is given to inclusive language, curricular choice, and assessment feedback style. The paper concludes that narrative approaches can strengthen students’ sense of belonging, which in turn supports learning persistence and critical thinking behaviors.
