Abstract
This historical-legal research examines the enduring legacy of colonial and apartheid-era land policies on contemporary land ownership disputes in South Africa. Analysis of legal cases and policy documents reveals persistent inequalities in land distribution and ongoing conflicts over restitution claims. The study proposes alternative dispute resolution mechanisms to expedite land reform.
