Abstract
This proposed research explores the relationship between project handover documentation and facility usability in Botswana’s commercial buildings. It focuses on operating manuals, equipment registers, maintenance instructions, and records of outstanding work. Interviews with facility managers and reviews of handover packages will investigate how documentation supports the transition from construction to occupancy. The study aims to identify information gaps and recommend handover practices that help building operators understand systems and organize routine facility management.
